How to use the Design Tool

Updated yesterday

The Cover Design Tool can be used for the following products:

  • Wire binding

  • Comb binding

  • Coil binding

  • Velo binding

  • Paperback books

  • Hardback books

  • Ring binding

  • Hardback wire

  • Presentation folders

  • Designable loose sheets

To access the Cover Design Tool, complete the following steps:

  • When configuring and previewing your document, go to section '4. Cover' and click the blue 'Configure cover' button.

Depending on the product selected you will be giving 4 options for your cover.

Blank Cover – Select this option if you do not require a printed cover. Your document will be produced with plain white front and back covers.

Cover Design Included (Recommended) – Select this option if your uploaded file already includes the cover design. This means the front cover is page 1 of your file and the back cover is the last page.

You will then have the option to move or copy these pages to the cover during the setup process.

Upload a Cover Design (Advanced Users) – We recommend this option if you have designed your cover as a full cover spread (front cover, spine, and back cover in one file). Please ensure your PDF spread matches the dimensions shown in the design tool before uploading.

Design a Cover – This option allows you to create your cover using the Doxzoo Design Tool. You can upload images, add text using a range of fonts, and customise your cover with shapes and background colours.

The Cover Design Tool will appear as a separate expandable panel, as below.
