Our black and white printing uses black toner only. As a result, areas intended to appear as deep or “rich” black may instead appear as a grey tone due to halftoning.
If you are looking to achieve a rich, solid black background, you will need to select colour printing. This applies to both full black backgrounds and designs that combine black and white elements where a deeper black is desired.
Additionally, paper type plays an important role in the final result:
Black & White printing is produced on matt bond, an uncoated paper, which can result in a softer, less intense black.
Colour printing is produced on matt ultra smooth paper, which is coated and allows for a richer, deeper, and more even ink finish.
For the best results with dark or black-heavy designs, we strongly recommend choosing colour printing.
For documents, black and white printing is absolutely fine.
