This article applies to Etsy sellers who manually place orders on the Doxzoo website and have them shipped directly to their customers.
Does Doxzoo integrate with Etsy?
No. Doxzoo does not have a direct integration with Etsy.
This means Etsy order data - including VAT and IOSS information - is not automatically transferred to Doxzoo or to the shipping carrier.
Can I enter my Etsy IOSS number on Doxzoo?
No. There is no field on the Doxzoo website to enter an Etsy IOSS number, and it should not be added manually to:
The delivery address
Customs descriptions
Notes or reference fields
Adding an Etsy IOSS number manually can cause customs delays or errors.
Why Etsy IOSS does not apply to manual Doxzoo orders
Etsy’s IOSS scheme only applies when Etsy is part of the shipping transaction.
When an Etsy seller:
Receives an order on Etsy
Manually recreates that order on the Doxzoo website
Ships it directly to the customer via Doxzoo
Etsy is no longer the exporter of record. As a result:
Etsy’s IOSS number cannot be used
The shipment is treated as a standard international export
VAT and customs fees may be charged by the destination country
What does this mean for customers?
Import VAT and/or handling fees may be charged on delivery
These charges are set by local customs authorities
Doxzoo has no control over whether fees are applied
What should Etsy sellers tell their customers?
We recommend Etsy sellers clearly state in their shop policies or listings that:
International orders may be subject to import taxes or customs fees
Any additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient
These fees are outside of the seller’s and Doxzoo’s control
Key takeaway
If you manually place an Etsy order on Doxzoo and ship it directly to the customer, Etsy’s IOSS scheme does not apply. There is no IOSS number to enter, and customs charges may still occur.
