All Canadian importers must be fully registered with CBSA's new Assessment and Revenue Management System (CARM) and post financial security, with cash or bond, before May 20 if they wish to participate in the Release Prior to Payment (RPP) program. If importers are not fully registered in CARM (which again includes having financial security in place), shipments will not be released until financial security has been posted in the CCP.
If you are not yet registered on the CARM Client Portal (CPP), please do so as soon as possible. Failure to be registered on the portal and have your broker(s) delegated will cause delays in your shipments being processing and delays in final accounting of your entries to CBSA.
The CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) Client Portal (CCP) is now accessible to all importers. All importers conducting business with the CBSA on behalf of their organization MUST create an individual user account on the CBSA CARM Client Portal.
