Encapsulated sheets are loose sheets which have been encased in plastic.

This provides extra protection and durability. For this reason, it is a popular choice for signs, notices, placemats, menus, maps, posters & more.

Encapsulation is commonly referred to as 'lamination' (or 'laminated sheets'), however there is a notable difference between the two methods.

Encapsulation adds approx 250gsm thickness to the paper product chosen

Encapsulation vs. Lamination

Encapsulation involves covering both sides of the printed sheet with plastic and securing it with a plastic border. This makes it watertight.

In contrast, lamination is when a thin layer of plastic is applied to one side of the printed sheet only. Lamination is not watertight.
